Animal Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Regret: 7 Minutes Cut From the Film

Fans of Ranbir Kapoor’s intense new avatar in Animal might be surprised to learn that there’s even more to the story. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga recently revealed a pang of regret over a 7-minute cut he made to the film before its theatrical release.

Vanga Wanted the Cut Scenes Back on Netflix

Vanga expressed his desire to reinstate the deleted scenes for the movie’s upcoming Netflix release. While he acknowledges that it was “a good cut,” he couldn’t shake the feeling that those 7 minutes could have added something special for viewers on the streaming platform.

“A Good Cut, But I Regret It” – Vanga’s Dilemma

The director’s own words, “It was a good cut, but I regret it,” highlight the difficult decisions filmmakers face in the editing room. Balancing pacing, narrative flow, and overall impact is a delicate art, and sometimes, even after the final cut, a director might second-guess their choices. This seems to be the case for Vanga, who now wishes he could share the complete vision he had for Animal with Netflix audiences.
