Love In Vietnam: A Cross-Cultural Romance That Misses the Mark

Love In Vietnam, the latest cross-cultural romance starring Shantanu Maheshwari and Avneet Kaur, promised a captivating journey of love amidst the stunning landscapes of Vietnam. Sadly, the film fails to deliver on its potential, leaving viewers feeling somewhat disappointed.

Weak Chemistry Hampers the Love Story

The central issue with Love In Vietnam lies in the lack of chemistry between the lead actors, Shantanu Maheshwari and Avneet Kaur. While both deliver decent individual performances, their on-screen connection feels forced and unconvincing, hindering the emotional impact of the love story. Avneet Kaur, in particular, deserved a stronger narrative and a more compelling romantic interest. Shantanu’s character comes across as a wannabe Kabir Singh, a trope that feels tired and out of place in this setting.

A Confusing Plot Adds to the Disappointment

Director Rahat Shah Kazmi attempts to weave a complex narrative involving cultural differences and personal growth. However, the plot feels convoluted and often loses its way. The inclusion of Khả Ngân adds another layer to the story, but ultimately doesn’t contribute much to the overall narrative arc. The film’s pacing also feels uneven, with moments of genuine charm interspersed with stretches of narrative confusion.
